Museification of Kazakhstan’s Historical and Cultural Heritage
From September 17 to 19, 2024, in the city of Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan, Russian Federation, the Director of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai,” Kuanysh Gibadatovich Shakshakov, participated in the discussion platform titled “Creative Innovations and National Cultural Traditions of the Commonwealth Countries.”
The event took place within the framework of the XVII Forum of Creative and Scientific Intellectuals of the CIS member states, entitled “The Commonwealth of Independent States: Shared Values and Cultural Diversity.”
During the forum, he delivered a report on the topic “Museification of Kazakhstan’s Historical and Cultural Heritage.”

The Director of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai,” Kuanysh Gibadatovich Shakshakov, is participating in the XVII Forum of Creative and Scientific Intellectuals of the CIS member states, titled “Commonwealth of Independent States: Shared Values and Cultural Diversity,” held in the city of Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan.
The forum is being conducted through several discussion platforms, including: “Creative Innovations and National Cultural Traditions of the Commonwealth Countries,” “Science and Education in the Era of Digital Transformation in the CIS,” “Cooperation Between Creative Universities of the Commonwealth Countries,” and others.
The panel discussion will be dedicated to the main theme of the forum: “Commonwealth of Independent States: Shared Values and Cultural Diversity.”
Discoverer of the Botai Culture – Yeslyambek Zakarievich
On September 11, 2024, the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai” organized a round table discussion with students of the agro-technical college in Saumalkol village on the topic “Discoverer of the Botai Culture – Yeslyambek Zakarievich,” dedicated to the memory of the discoverer of the Botai culture, historian Yeslyambek Zakarievich.
The purpose of the round table was to promote the understanding of the culture, history, and statehood of the Great Steppe, as well as to discuss the results and future prospects of studying the Botai archaeological culture.
As part of the event, an exhibition of artifacts from the Botai culture was presented to the students.
The main target audience of the round table included college teachers, students, and museum research staff.
Exhibition for Foreign Journalists
On September 9, within the framework of the 5th World Nomad Games, the scientific staff of the Republican State Enterprise “State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve ‘Botai’” organized an exhibition for foreign journalists at the branch of the A. Kh. Margulan Institute of Archaeology in Astana.
The exhibition featured artifacts discovered at the Botai settlement site.
5th World Nomad Games
The international marathon-baiqa “Ұлы Дала жорығы”, held as part of the 5th World Nomad Games, started on September 3, 2024, in the village of Lobanovo, Aiyrtau District.
This year, the marathon “Ұлы Дала жорығы” is being held in Kazakhstan for the first time at an international level.
Approximately 10 teams from foreign countries participated, including South Africa, Iran, Turkey, Hungary, and Kyrgyzstan. Participants were required to cover a distance of 500 kilometers. In total, 17 teams took part in the event.
The main goal of the international marathon-baiqa “Ұлы дала жорығы” is the revival of forgotten horse breeds, as well as the development and promotion of their potential at the international level.
