On May 15, ahead of International Museum Day and Culture Workers’ Day in Kazakhstan, the Botai State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve held a traveling exhibition and a dialogue platform dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence. The event took place on the picturesque shores of Lake Imantau at the “Guest House by the Lake” for guides and interpreters, as well as tour leaders from NT “Arman-Tour” in Nur-Sultan. Guests were presented with an exhibition of Botai culture, including household tools, drilling and grinding implements, disc-shaped tools, cutting tools (axes with poll sides), hunting tools (spear, dart, and arrowheads), a restored ceramic vessel, and ceramic fragments.

The dialogue platform included the participation of: Kulbaev Ualikhani Kairollinovich, Director of the Botai Museum-Reserve; Rakat Mazhkenovich Mambetalinov, Director of the Center for the Protection and Use of Historical and Cultural Heritage; Saltanat Agzamovna Abzhanova, Head of NT “Arman-Tour” and the School for Guides, Interpreters, and Tour Leaders; Murat Nurushev, PhD in Biological Sciences and Researcher at the Botai Museum-Reserve; Amanbek Gazizovich Makhmetov, Head of the Department of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of the Akimat of Ayirtau District, North Kazakhstan Region; and other guides and tour leaders of Kazakhstan. During the discussion, key issues were addressed, including the development of tourism in the Ayirtau District, attracting visitors to the region, and creating special programs and events to increase interest in local culture, aiming to draw potential tourists and promote information about the area’s historical potential.

Kulbaev Ualikhani Kairollinovich, Director of the Botai Museum-Reserve, noted: “The successful implementation of our plans and tasks depends on the efficiency, clarity, and coordination of all structures. Achieving our goals is possible only through joint efforts aimed at improving tourism quality in our region. Thanks to unity and collective efforts, we will accomplish all planned objectives. As interest in educational tourism grows, the importance of protecting cultural heritage sites increases.”
