“Night of Botai”
On May 16, 2025, the Republican State Enterprise “State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve ‘Botai’” of the Committee of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a festive event titled “Night of Botai” in the village of Saumalkol, Aiyrtau District, North Kazakhstan Region, as part of the international “Night at the Museum” campaign.
The main events were held at an open-air venue in Saumalkol village and in the exhibition halls of the Botai Museum-Reserve. Visitors were offered guided tours of the museum halls, where research staff demonstrated the process of making stone discs and processing leather using ancient Botai technologies. The guests showed great interest in historical artifacts, crafts, and the everyday life of people who lived during the Eneolithic period.
The modern format of the event attracted a large audience, including local residents, elders, youth, researchers, and local historians.
The event concluded with a festive concert.
“Night of Botai”
As part of the “Night of Museums” campaign dedicated to the International Museum Day, the festive event “Night of Botai” will be held for residents and guests of Saumalkol village on May 16 at 6:00 p.m. in front of the “Inzadan” trade and administrative center.
On the Eve of May 9 – Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War
On May 8, staff of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai” organized an exhibition of artifacts from the Botai culture for schoolchildren of Saumalkol village, on the eve of May 9 — Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War.
The purpose of the event was to educate children in moral values, foster love and respect for the Motherland, strengthen patriotic feelings, and share knowledge about the heroism of Kazakhstanis, as well as to develop students’ understanding of the events of the Second World War.
“No One Is Forgotten, Nothing Is Forgotten!”
On May 6, 2025, the Botai Museum-Reserve was visited by children from the Kolosok nursery-kindergarten in Saumalkol village.
An excursion was organized for the children in the exhibition hall of the museum-reserve. During the visit, they were introduced to the Botai culture, the history of its research, and preserved artifacts of the Eneolithic period.
On the Eve of May 7 – Defender of the Fatherland Day
On May 5, 2025, in order to promote the archaeological heritage of the Botai culture and foster love for the Motherland, respect for its history and culture among young people, the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai” organized an excursion titled “Botai – Culture of the Great Steppe” for employees of the Aiyrtau District Police Department, on the eve of May 7 — Defender of the Fatherland Day.
