Botai Museum-Reserve in the State Catalogue “E-museum”
Within the framework of a seminar organized by the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Collection Keeper of the Botai Museum-Reserve, Makpal Serikbekkyzy Almaganbetova, is participating in the work on filling the “E-museum” web portal.
“E-museum” is a unified state catalogue of museum collections in Kazakhstan, where information about thousands of exhibits is gathered.
Participants of the seminar are learning how to enter exhibits into the electronic database and how to properly complete information in three languages — Kazakh, Russian, and English.
This step will make it possible to present the unique heritage of the Botai culture at the international level and to promote our history more widely.

- An exhibition from the Shal Akyn District Historical and Local Lore Museum

- Artworks dedicated to the Botai culture (collection of Yu.B. Tikhonov)
- Master classes demonstrating the daily life of the ancient Botai people
- An exhibition of creative works by children from local educational centers

Meeting with Asset Syzdykov
A meeting was held at the Botai Museum-Reserve with Asset Syzdykov, a children’s and youth prose writer, journalist, and author. During the discussion, the prospects and preparation of a new book dedicated to the Botai culture were addressed. As a sign of respect and cooperation, the author donated his publication to the museum, where it will take a worthy place in the collections.
Such meetings emphasize the importance of public educational activity, literature, and museum work. Journalism records current events, literature reveals their depth, and museums ensure the preservation and transmission of these values to future generations. It is through this unity that a holistic understanding of historical and cultural heritage is formed.
Writer Asset Syzdykov visited the Botai settlement
On September 12, 2025, journalist and writer Asset Syzdykov visited the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai.” During his visit, he explored the museum exhibition and the Botai settlement and collected materials for his new book.
In the future, the author plans to dedicate a separate work to the unique Botai culture, which holds a special place in the history and cultural heritage of Kazakhstan.
“In the Footsteps of the Ancient Botai Culture: Results and Future Research”
An online meeting with world-renowned archaeologist, Professor Alan Outram of the University of Exeter, was organized by the Botai State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve.
Topic: “In the Footsteps of the Ancient Botai Culture: Results and Future Research.”
During the meeting, the research of the Botai culture, excavation results, and future scientific investigations were discussed.
This meeting once again confirmed the significance of Botai in world civilization and opened the way for new scientific ideas.
