The State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai” continues its online dialogue series “Expert Insight,” in which scientists from various fields (history, archaeology, ethnography, etc.) share their opinions and scientific research.

Today’s guest is Mambet Saparbeksovich Shagirbayev, Senior Research Fellow of the A. Kh. Margulan Institute of Archaeology, Head of the Zooarchaeology Laboratory, PhD doctoral candidate.

Excursion

Today, on September 22, the Botai Museum-Reserve was visited by students of the 6th grade of Saumalkol Secondary School No. 1.

As part of the "Ceramics Month" campaign, the children got acquainted with unique ceramics from the Botai culture.

The students learned how ancient ceramics were made, what shapes and ornaments our ancestors used, as well as what ceramic products were used for in everyday life.

Such meetings help children not only to broaden their horizons, but also to feel connected with the history and cultural heritage of their region.
