Margulan Readings – 2024

From May 23 to 25, 2024, the international scientific and practical conference “Margulan Readings – 2024,” dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Academician A. Kh. Margulan, was held in the city of Pavlodar. As part of the conference, M. S. Makeev, a research associate of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai,” delivered a presentation titled “Archaeological Field Research at the Botai Settlement in 2023.”

Ботай пырағы – 2024

On May 23, 2024, the Republican State Enterprise “State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve ‘Botai’” of the Committee of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan held the historical reconstruction festival “Botai Pyragy – 2024” at the Botai settlement near the village of Nikolskoye in the Aiyrtau District of the North Kazakhstan Region. In 2024, the annual festival combined two significant observances in its concept: International Museum Day on May 18 and the Day of Culture and Art Workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan on May 21. As part of the festival, a traveling exhibition from the museum-reserve’s collections was presented. For festival guests, a theatrical performance demonstrated the process of horse domestication and the traditional preparation of kumys (fermented mare’s milk). Archery competitions were also held in an engaging format. In stylized yurts, an exhibition of paintings dedicated to the Botai culture was organized, featuring works from the collections of the North Kazakhstan Regional Museum Association.

Master Class by a Restoration Artist

On May 21, 2024, Yu. B. Tikhonov, a restoration artist of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai,” conducted a painting master class for the residents of Saumalkol village. The event was dedicated to the Day of Culture and Art Workers, celebrated on May 21.

Identification of Corruption Risks

On May 16, 2024, a training event on the anti-corruption policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai.” The topic of the session was “Identification of Corruption Risks.”
