
As part of the “Night of Museums” campaign dedicated to International Museum Day, the festive event “Night of Botai” will take place for residents and guests of Saumalkol village on May 17 at 18:00 in front of the trading and administrative center “Inzadan.”
At the “Inzadan” venue, several activity areas will be set up and operate throughout the event. Guests and visitors will have the opportunity to attend theatrical master classes and create replicas of ancient artifacts with their own hands. The program will also include engaging excursions, quizzes, sports games, a film screening, and more.

The State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai” of the Committee for Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan is organizing a republican drawing competition for the best artistic and conceptual depiction of artifacts of the Botai culture. The competition is dedicated to International Children’s Day, celebrated on June 1.
On May 10, 2024, staff members of the Museum-Reserve “Botai” conducted an excursion for guests from the city of Almaty in the exhibition hall of the Botai Museum-Reserve. The visitors became acquainted with the Botai archaeological culture, a significant monument located in the territory of Northern Kazakhstan, and received a great deal of interesting and useful information.

In honor of May 9 — Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945), the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai” of the Committee for Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan produced a video digest titled “Milestones of Memory and Glory.” The video is dedicated to the older generation — the grandfathers of the staff of the Botai Museum-Reserve.
The purpose of the video digest is to honor the memory of the grandfathers who participated in the Great Patriotic War, as well as to foster a sense of patriotism and love for the Motherland among the younger generation.
The objectives of the video digest include sharing brief information mentioning members of the older generation, briefly presenting the places where their heroic deeds took place, and showing photographs of grandfathers and great-grandfathers. This is intended to ensure that young people know and remember history and develop a sense of gratitude for the achievements and sacrifices of the older generation.
On May 6, 2023, in anticipation of May 7 — Defender of the Fatherland Day — a thematic excursion was organized for the enlisted personnel of military unit No. 5510, located in Saumalkol village, in the exhibition hall of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai.”
The purpose of the thematic excursion was to introduce the soldiers to the profession and way of life of ancient people.
During the excursion, museum staff shared information about the discovery, history, and research of the Botai culture. Visitors were also presented with materials on the reconstruction of ancient Botai dwellings, the domestication of wild horses, and Botai culture ceramics.
Participants of the excursion saw ancient tools and weapons used by the Botai people in everyday life and gained unforgettable impressions.
