Dear friends!
The State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Botai" continues the cycle of meetings "Expert's view".
On September 23, Marat Sailauovich Makeev, researcher at the Botai Museum–Reserve, will hold a conversation with Mambet Saparbekovich Shagirbaev, senior researcher at the A. H. Margulan Institute of Archaeology, head of the Zooarchaeology Laboratory, PhD candidate.
Topic: "Botai culture: the first center of horse domestication and the development of zooarchaeological research"
On September 18, 2025, the Botai Museum-Reserve in the Khan Seri House of Culture (Ayyrtau district, S.Saumalkol) organized an exhibition "At the junction of History and Labor" dedicated to Labor Day as part of the Year of Working Professions.
The main purpose of the event is to increase the prestige and popularization of working professions, as well as the formation of respect for work and working people.
As part of the seminar organized by the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Makpal Serikbekkyzy Almaganbetova, curator of the funds of the Botai Museum Reserve, participates in the work on filling the E-museum web portal.
The E-museum is a unified state catalog of museum collections in Kazakhstan, which collects information about thousands of exhibits.
The participants of the seminar learn how to add exhibits to an electronic database and fill out information efficiently in three languages — Kazakh, Russian and English.
This step will make it possible to present the unique heritage of the Botai culture internationally and to popularize our history more widely.
A meeting with the author of prose for children and teenagers, journalist and writer Asset Syzdykov was held at the Botai Museum-Reserve. During the conversation, the prospects and preparation of a new book dedicated to the Botai culture were discussed. As a sign of respect and cooperation, the author donated his publication to the museum, which will take its rightful place in the funds.
Such meetings emphasize the importance of educational activities, literature, and museum work. Journalism captures current events, literature reveals their depth, and the museum ensures the preservation and transmission of these values to future generations. It is in this unity that a holistic understanding of historical and cultural heritage is born.
On September 12, 2025, the Botai State Museum-Reserve and the Botai settlement were visited by journalist and writer Asset Syzdykov. During the visit, he got acquainted with the museum's exposition and collected materials for his new book. In the future, the author plans to dedicate a separate work to the unique Botai culture, which occupies a special place in the history and cultural heritage of Kazakhstan.
