Ornaments in Dwellings

The Botai settlement marks the beginning of great discoveries in the history of humankind.

It was here that an animal that changed the course of history — the horse — was first domesticated.

The ornaments discovered on the interior walls of the dwellings at the Botai settlement reflect the worldview and spiritual culture of ancient people. Among them, triangular patterns hold a special place.

According to researchers, the triangle symbolized harmony between nature, humans, and the spiritual world, as well as stability of life and protection. It was also associated with the hearth, fire, and family well-being.

The dwellings and their ornaments serve as silent evidence of the high level of thinking and artistic taste of the ancient inhabitants of Botai.

We invite you to experience this ancient history through a video presentation.
