On October 23, 2025, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “VI Issyk Readings” was held at the Issyk State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve under the theme: “International Research in the Field of Archaeology: Experience, Results, and Priority Areas.”

The event was held jointly with the Archaeological Institute of Shaanxi Province (Xi'an, People's Republic of China) and was dedicated to three significant dates at once: the 55th anniversary of the discovery of the Golden Man,

the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Issyk Museum-Reserve,

and the 90th anniversary of the archaeologist and scientist Bekmukhanbet Nurmukhanbetov.

As part of the conference, presentations were held for the monograph “Rakhat Archaeological Complex” and a guidebook to the Issyk Museum-Reserve published in Chinese.

Representatives of the Botai Museum-Reserve took part in the event: Director S.K. Amirova, Collection Keeper M.S. Almaganbetova, and Chief Inspector for Monument Protection V.A. Iskrizhitsky.

Junior Research Fellow of the Botai Museum-Reserve, D.V. Toktarov, delivered a presentation titled “Some Results of International Expeditions at the Monuments of the Botai Culture,” in which he presented the outcomes of joint archaeological research and emphasized the significance of the Botai culture in the study of the ancient history of Kazakhstan.
