The State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai” annually conducts practical archaeological excavations in cooperation with students.

This year, archaeological practice for first-year students of the “Geography–History” educational program of Shokan Ualikhanov Kokshetau University has started at the Botai settlement.

A total of 49 students are participating in the archaeological practice, including 27 girls and 22 boys.

The students are actively involved in the fieldwork. During the practice, they will become familiar with archaeological sites as a special type of historical source, general excavation rules, and traditional and modern methods of archaeological excavation.

The participants of the excavations will have the opportunity to study cultural layers, observe ancient artifacts discovered during the investigation of the Botai culture sites, and directly examine them.
