“Archaeology of Kazakhstan: New Discoveries”

With the participation of State Advisor E.T. Karin, the forum of historians “Current Issues of National History: New Perspectives and Searches” was held on January 23, 2025, in Astana at the Cultural Center of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Within the framework of the event, an exhibition titled “Archaeology of Kazakhstan: New Discoveries” was organized.

The main feature of the exhibition was the presentation of new archaeological materials discovered over the past 3–5 years. The exhibition was divided into thematic sections: the Stone Age, Early Metal Age, Early Iron Age, Medieval Period, and a multimedia section.

The exhibition was organized by the Congress of Historians of Kazakhstan jointly with the A.Kh. Margulan Institute of Archaeology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The display included new archaeological materials discovered in major museums across the country. Among them were unique Eneolithic artifacts from the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai,” such as fragments of ceramic vessels, an ornamented horse phalanx, and stone tools.

The exhibition showcasing new archaeological discoveries in Kazakhstan will be open to the public for two months.
