On October 24, 2024, the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai” of the Committee of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan held an international scientific and practical conference online via the ZOOM platform on the topic “The Contribution of the Botai Culture to the Development of World Civilization,” dedicated to October 25 — Republic Day of Kazakhstan.

The adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Kazakhstan on this significant day made it possible in subsequent years to study the country’s historical science more thoroughly, deeply, and comprehensively.

The purpose of the conference was to study and develop Kazakhstan’s archaeological science, as well as to discuss the scientific results of both international and domestic archaeological expeditions. The online conference brought together renowned historians from England, as well as Kazakhstani archaeologists, scholars, and staff of national museum-reserves.

The director of the Botai Museum-Reserve delivered a congratulatory and welcoming speech. A presentation on current issues in the study of the history of Kazakhstan and on the scientific development of various aspects of the Botai culture was delivered by Alan Outram, Professor at the University of Exeter (England).

Kazakhstani archaeologists spoke about the most interesting archaeological sites and monuments, as well as about the results obtained from their research. Further work will include continued research, exploration, data analysis, and the publication of findings on a wide range of current topics in the historical science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
