The horse marathon “Ұлы дала жорығы,” which will be held in Astana this year as part of the 5th World Nomad Games, is scheduled to start on September 3 at 7:00 a.m. at the Botai settlement (Aiyrtau District, village of Nikolskoye).
Teams from more than 10 countries are expected to participate in this large-scale sporting event, including Iran, Turkey, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of South Africa, the Russian Federation, and others.
As part of this major and significant event, on August 3, the Akim of North Kazakhstan Region, Gauyez Nurbukhmambetov, visited the Botai settlement (Nikolskoye village, Aiyrtau District). He became acquainted with the program of the 5th World Nomad Games, the event procedures, and the route of the riders.
In addition, the regional Akim visited the archaeological site, reviewed information about the unique artifacts of the Botai culture, and studied ancient technologies such as ceramic production, leather processing, and stone disc manufacturing. A number of future plans were also developed to promote the Botai settlement.
