Open Day

On April 18, the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai” opened its doors to visitors. On this day, the museum-reserve organized an “Open Day” event dedicated to April 18 — International Day for Monuments and Sites Protection.

Museum specialists conducted engaging excursions for both adult and young visitors, presenting exhibition halls and sharing interesting facts about the history of the Botai culture. Guests of the excursion included students of the Saumalkol Agricultural and Technical College, students of the “Zeynep” College from Lobanovo village, and pupils of the Saumalkol Kazakh School.

During the excursion, the Chief Inspector of the Department for the Protection of Monuments and Historical Sites, V. A. Iskrizhitsky, delivered a lecture aimed at promoting careful preservation of historical heritage. After that, students learned about the history of the Botai culture and archaeological discoveries. The exhibition hall also hosted an engaging master class on ceramic pottery making.
