Ethno Festival "Botai – Cultural Heritage of the Great Steppe and the Priceless Wealth of the Kazakh People"

On June 26, the ancient Botai settlement in Aiyrtau District hosted the Ethno Festival "Botai – Cultural Heritage of the Great Steppe and the Priceless Wealth of the Kazakh People". The event was organized by the Botai State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve under the Committee of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the Tourism Association of North Kazakhstan Region.

The festival was attended by the Akim of North Kazakhstan Region Gauyez Nurmukhambetov, the Akim of Aiyrtau District Meiram Mendybayev, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Culture Sabit Barlybayev, Deputy Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industrial-Innovative Development of Kostanay Region Talgat Amangeldinovich Salamatov, as well as guests from different regions of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.

The festival featured ethnocultural and museum exhibitions, an exhibition of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan of North Kazakhstan Region, and an art exhibition dedicated to the Botai culture.

Craftsmen from Kostanay Region showcased traditional handicrafts and conducted мастер classes for visitors. One of the highlights of the festival was the ethnic fashion show presented by Kazakhstani designers.

Teachers from North Kazakhstan Region who work with schoolchildren on scientific and educational projects dedicated to the Botai culture also took part in the festival, presenting their educational initiatives.

Visitors enjoyed educational activities, interactive exhibitions, theatrical performances, a concert program, traditional national sports, demonstrations of nomadic culture, horseback competitions, and archery.

The Ethno Festival became an important platform for promoting the historical and cultural heritage of the Botai culture, preserving national traditions, and developing ethnocultural tourism.
