The International Winter School "University of Auezov - 2026", organized by the Department of General History and Museum Business, has started its work at the M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University.

The opening of the winter school was dedicated to a topical theme within UNESCO — "Conservation, protection and management of the World Historical and Cultural Heritage." The event became a unique platform for students, researchers and specialists, allowing them to exchange experiences, discuss important issues and expand knowledge in the field of cultural heritage protection.

On behalf of the Botai State Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum, researchers Marat Makeev and Damir Toktarov took part in the work of the winter school as speakers with a report on the topic:

"Conservation, protection and museification of the Botai settlement in the North Kazakhstan region".

During the presentation, the issues of the worldwide significance of the Botai monument, modern approaches to its preservation and protection, as well as the main directions of museum activity were revealed.
