
On January 15, 2025, the Botai State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve hosted an online round table on the topic: «International archaeological research of the Botai culture at the present stage and their prospects.»
During the event, Sabina Karimovna Amirova, Director of the Botai Museum-Reserve, Alan Outram, Professor at the University of Exeter (England), as well as PhD in
History, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Russian Federation) Natalia Nikolaevna Skakun discussed issues of further joint scientific projects and prospects for international cooperation.
The round table was also attended by scientists and archaeologists conducting research on the Botai culture. Among the participants are Talgat Mamirov, Meruert Kiyasbek, Dosbol Baygunakov, Mambet Shagirbayev and employees of the Botai Museum-Reserve.
Alan Outram's report and presentation on the Botai culture and the problem of horse domestication, one of the key issues of world archaeology, attracted special attention from the participants.
During the event, the results of international research in recent years, current scientific problems, as well as prospects for further study and preservation of the unique Botai monument were discussed.
