
The Syrymbet Historical and Ethnographic Museum named after Shokan Ualikhanov held a round table yesterday dedicated to the 190th anniversary of the outstanding scientist, ethnographer and traveler Shokan Ualikhanov.
The event was attended by renowned historians, archaeologists, educators, representatives of public organizations, as well as employees of the BOTAI State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve.
The participants discussed Shokan Ualikhanov's scientific legacy, his contribution to the development of Russian historical science and ethnography, as well as current areas of further research.
At the end of the round table, the guests from Petropavlovsk visited the BOTAI Museum-Reserve, where they were able to get acquainted with the unique materials of the Botai culture.
