On October 26, 2021, the opening of the traveling exhibition “Atqa Minu Medeueti – The Heritage of Steppe Civilization” took place at the architectural and archaeological complex Akyrtas. The exhibition was organized by the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai” in collaboration with the North Kazakhstan Regional Museum Association. It was implemented as part of the “Rukhani Zhangyru” program and inspired by the fundamental article of the Leader of the Nation, N.A. Nazarbayev, “Seven Facets of the Great Steppe,” and is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The exhibition introduces visitors to the sacred site of the Botai settlement, whose uniqueness and significance lie in the fact that it was here, for the first time in the world, that horses were domesticated and the first dwellings of nomads were created. The exhibition also features invaluable artifacts discovered during archaeological excavations, as well as paintings by renowned artists from the North Kazakhstan region.
