On October 7–8, 2021, the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference “New Trends and Prospects for the Development of Museum Work and Archaeological Research in Kazakhstan,” dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was held. The event was organized by the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai” and conducted in both offline and online formats. The conference brought together historians, archaeologists, specialists from the Center for the Protection and Promotion of Historical and Cultural Heritage, directors of museums and reserves, local history museums, and tourism experts from various regions of Kazakhstan. It served as a dialogue platform where participants shared opinions and engaged in discussions on topics of interest to the archaeological community. Over 120 participants attended the conference.

Representatives of the Akimat of Aiyrtau District and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan addressed the participants with welcoming remarks.

Highlights of the conference included presentations by directors and researchers from museums and institutions across Kazakhstan, including: RSE “Bozok”; North Kazakhstan Regional Museum Association; Institute of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Research Center “Sacred Kazakhstan” of the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan; State Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum “Azret Sultan”; Karaganda Regional Historical and Local History Museum; Reserve-Museum “Monuments of Ancient Taraz”. These participants presented video presentations, research projects, and cultural-educational initiatives in archaeology.

Staff from the Akmola Regional Historical and Local History Museum, as well as archaeologists from the North Kazakhstan Region and the “Archaeology and Ethnography” Center of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, shared research on Botai culture settlements.

Conference discussions also covered the preservation of historical and cultural sites and the development of tourism clusters.

For the participants, the staff of the Botai Museum-Reserve and the North Kazakhstan Regional Museum Association organized an exhibition of artifacts from the Botai settlement, along with artworks dedicated to Botai culture.

At the conclusion of the conference, all participants received Letters of Appreciation and gift packages containing Botai souvenirs and printed materials.

The following day, participants went on a guided tour of the Imantausko-Shalkar resort area and visited the Mausoleum of Karasai and Agyntai Batyrs, the Shokan Ualikhanov Historical and Ethnographic Museum, and the Ayganim Estate Museum in the village of Syrimbet.
