Today, on February 25, 2022, the Republican State Enterprise “State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve ‘Botai’” of the Committee of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a republican training online seminar titled “Current Issues of Scientific and Collection Management Work in Museums” in an online format on the ZOOM platform.

The purpose of the seminar was to enhance the professional capacity of museum staff in matters of accounting and storage of museum collections, technologies of exhibit restoration, and to familiarize participants with modern methods in the field of collection management and preservation.

The event was attended by chief custodians of collections and specialists, including Bateş Rakhmetzhanovna Akpasova from the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Nurzhamal Oryntayevna Ashirbekova from the State Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum “Azret Sultan”; Bibigul Kariyevna Omarova from the North Kazakhstan Regional Museum Association; Aliya Muratovna Ospanova from the State Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum “Monuments of Ancient Taraz”; Gulzada Baktybayevna Bakitova from the West Kazakhstan Regional Historical and Local History Museum; Gulden Kamakayevna Izanova, Senior Researcher of the Department of General History, Archaeology and Ethnography of the Akmola Regional Historical and Local History Museum; as well as Alma Sungatovna Kunanbayeva, a local historian and holder of the “Madeniyet Kairatkeri” badge.

During the event, participants exchanged experience and engaged in a constructive dialogue on issues related to collection management and possible solutions.
