Each year, the spring season brings snowmelt and heavy precipitation, increasing the risk of flooding in areas located near rivers and water bodies. One of such places is the unique archaeological monument of the Eneolithic period — the Botai settlement, located in the village of Nikolskoye on the right bank of the Iman-Burluk River.
To preserve this valuable historical heritage and prevent potential damage during flood periods, employees responsible for the protection and management of historical and cultural heritage sites regularly monitor the condition of dwellings and surrounding within designated protection zones.
For effective control of the situation, aerial photography of the area is used, which helps to identify high-risk zones and determine the scale of possible flooding. In addition, on-site inspections of dwelling foundations and walls are carried out to detect any signs of deformation or damage.
Monitoring of the condition of the territory of the Botai settlement plays an important role in preventing serious consequences for the preservation of historical heritage.
