On June 13, 2024, the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve held a field seminar on the protection and use of historical and cultural heritage at the Botai settlement, titled “Ensuring Revival, Preservation, Museification, Popularization, and Addressing Preservation Issues of Archaeological Sites.”

The goal of the seminar was professional exchange of experience in preserving and promoting historical and cultural heritage, including:

• Highlighting the challenges encountered in the course of heritage protection activities.

Conducting a field seminar in this format involves discussing a range of issues on new forms and methods of preserving and transforming the accumulated experience in both public and private institutions, museums, in the context of preserving and popularizing historical and cultural heritage.

The field seminar was attended by researchers, experts in the field of protection and use of historical and cultural heritage, university professors and members of the “Young Archaeologist” club.

At the event, presentations were delivered by V.A. Iskrizhitsky, Chief Inspector for the Protection and Use of Historical and Cultural Heritage; Y.B. Tikhonov, artist-restorer, gave a report on the reconstruction of a Botai dwelling. Additionally, master classes were held on UAVs operation and aerial photography, as well as on tent assembly and disassembly, among other activities.

The event concluded with sports competitions, including spear throwing, archery, and other activities.
