
Today, December 14, 2022, the Republican State Enterprise “State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve ‘Botai’” under the Committee of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, jointly with the Municipal State Institution “Center for the Protection and Use of Historical and Cultural Heritage” of the Department of Culture, Language Development and Archives of the Akimat of the North Kazakhstan Region, held a national online conference on the topic: “Preservation and popularization of Archaeological Sites and Their Museification.”
The event was attended by employees of museum organizations, archaeologists, historians, and researchers from various regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The purpose of the event was to identify and discuss the most pressing issues faced by museum-reserves in the preservation of the historical heritage of Kazakhstan, as well as to share modern methods for studying and promoting the country’s rich historical and cultural heritage. Particular attention was given to interdisciplinary approaches in archaeological research and to methods of preserving archaeological sites.
For example, the head of the department of the KGU 'Center for the Protection and Use of Historical and Cultural Heritage' of the Department of Culture, Language Development and Archival Affairs of the Akimat of the North Kazakhstan Region, Zho. Baymusenov, shared his experience in the conservation and museification of the Kyzyl-Oba Necropolis. Scientific data on the discovered unique artifacts of the Saka period was shared by Z.K. Ukeev, the director of the Center for the Protection and Use of the Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Akmola Region.In addition, at the republican online conference, methods of actualizing and modernizing the work experience accumulated in regional centers for the protection of monuments and republican museum-reserves were discussed.
