Online Museum Lesson “Botai Archaeological Settlement”

The Botai culture is an archaeological culture identified by V. F. Zaibert based on materials from Eneolithic sites studied in Northern Kazakhstan.

The uniqueness and significance of the Botai culture lie in the fact that it was here that the horse was first domesticated in the world, and the earliest dwellings of nomadic peoples were created. This scientific discovery reflects the historical experience of distant ancestors, who passed down a distinctive architectural style.
In 2017, the archaeological site of Botai was included in the national list of sacred sites of Kazakhstan.
