On May 18, 2022, the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Botai,” as part of the “Night of Museums” initiative, held the festival “Botai Pyragy – 2022,” dedicated to International Museum Day.

At the Botai settlement, 14 activity zones were operating simultaneously. Guests and museum visitors had the opportunity to watch theatrical performances such as horse domestication, grinding plant roots, cleaning horse hides, making stone discs, preparing the national drink kumis, and even try making replicas of ancient products with their own hands. Visitors could also ride horses and enjoy the traditional swing (altybakan).
Museum-reserve staff were recognized for their outstanding work in promoting historical and cultural heritage:

• Letter of Appreciation from the Director of the “Botai” Museum-Reserve and a monetary certificate of 50,000 tenge – Sh. K. Zhetybaev, Yu. B. Tikhonov, R. A. Yakovchenko
The event continued with the theatrical performance “Call of the Ancestors,” the lighting of the Botai flame, and a concert program.
